An interview should be viewed as:
- An opportunity for you to present your background, experience and skills to an interviewer whose goal is to evaluate your skills, experience and qualifications for the position and “fit” (shared values and common vision) with their organization.
- An opportunity for you to evaluate a potential supervisor and work environment.
The interview is what is going to get you the job, not your resume. It is very important to prepare carefully for the interview and to observe the proper etiquette throughout the process.
Practice is the best way to prepare for an interview — if you would like to participate in a videotaped Practice Interview conducted by a staff member in the Career Center, call our office at 843.953.5692 to schedule an appointment.
