Jim Allison

Executive Director at the College of Charleston

Jim earned his Bachelor’s degree in English from Wake Forest University and a second degree in Psychology from UNC Greensboro. He earned his Master’s in Counseling with a concentration in Student Development in Higher Education.When he's not busy in the Career Center, Jim likes spending time with his family, his dog, and his bird!

Hannah Beam

Student Employment Specialist/JLD Coordinator

Hannah received a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management with an emphasis in Event Planning from the University of Missouri. Her previous experience includes two years as the Office Manager of the College of Charleston Career Center and three years as a Coordinator and Senior Enrollment Specialist at Columbia College in Columbia, MO. When not at work she enjoys reading, exploring Charleston, and spending time with her husband and their two dogs.

Erin O'Dea Halford 

Employer Relations Manager.

Erin received her Master of Education in Counseling and Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Providence College in Rhode Island. Erin has worked in career services in various capacities including career counseling, internship coordination, and employer relations. The former Internship Coordinator at College of Charleston in 2007, Erin went on to work for The Art Institute of Charleston and Northeastern University in Boston, MA before returning to College of Charleston.

Camille Hamrick

Career Counselor

Camille earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication: Public Relations from Anderson University. After graduating, she utilized her degree in a variety of settings focused on higher education. Prior to joining the College of Charleston’s team, she served on staff at her alma mater in the Center for Career Development as well as Conference Services. She enjoys hiking with her husband and their Bernese Mountain Dog, although they’ve enjoyed substituting hiking with going to the beach since moving to the lowcountry.

Cheryl Wingert 

Coordinator of the Student Employment Program

Cheryl received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Coker College and has 15 years' experience in higher education working in administrative support and career advising roles. She is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator and enjoys assisting the diverse population of students at CofC in their career preparation. Her previous experience includes a buyer role for Sonoco Products and recruiter for a mortgage loan operations company. She is active in the South Carolina Association of Colleges and Employers (SCACE) and enjoys walking, reading, and making art when not at work.

Emma Waugh 

Associate Director for Career Education

Before starting her work at the College of Charleston, Emma worked in career development at the University of South Carolina College of Engineering and Computing. She also has worked in K-12 public education in career services and is a certified Global Career Development Facilitator. Prior to entering the wonderful world of career services and higher education, Emma graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Master of Arts in Anthropology, and from University of Miami with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology. Though not currently a practicing anthropologist, she still enjoys experiencing all different cultures through travel, eating, and art.

Jennifer Wells

Assistant Director for Career Education

Jen received her Master of Education in Student Personnel Services at Ohio University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Muskingum University in Ohio.  Jennifer’s higher education / student affairs background is predominantly in career services, but she has also worked in academic advising, institutional research, and residence life.  She has previously worked at Hanover College (Indiana), Eastern Illinois University, Coker University (South Carolina), and Longwood University (Virginia).  Most recently she has worked locally at The Citadel, Trident Technical College, and held a short-term role in the Career Center at the College of Charleston.  For fun, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her 2-year old lab, as well as biking, traveling and being on or near the water.

Kristin Wichmann 

Experiential Learning Coordinator.

Kristin received her Master of Arts in Human Sciences from Hood College and her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Pennsylvania State University. Kristin previously served as the Internship Coordinator for the College of Charleston Department of Political Science and as the Career Center Recruiting Coordinator at Mount St. Mary's University in Maryland.
