Interviewing

An interview should be viewed as:

  • An opportunity for you to present your background, experience and skills to an interviewer whose goal is to evaluate your skills, experience and qualifications for the position and “fit” (shared values and common vision) with their organization.
  • An opportunity for you to evaluate a potential supervisor and work environment.

The interview is what is going to get you the job, not your resume. It is very important to prepare carefully for the interview and to observe the proper etiquette throughout the process.

First impressions are key and how you present yourself at the interview will help determine if you get the job.  It is very important to prepare carefully for the interview and to observe the proper etiquette throughout the process.  Whether you interview in person or online, be sure to dress appropriately.
